It has remained a known fact that every human has one or more habits he/she may not be proud of.
Yes, we’re talking habits today and I felt you should know that most of these habits are so toxic, they can be attributed to us in no time as characteristic traits if they are not curbed.
“I used to masturbate real good, at least four times a week. Like everyday of my life conceives a new porn scene in my head. The venue could be anywhere; the office, the toilet, a dark corner, under my bedsheets and once I even did it in a public hospital ward. Yeah, the physical and mental relief I get after the act is immeasurable, but deep down where my conscience sits, I know what I did was absolutely wrong.” _Michael
Now, Michael, without any external judgment, knows to a certain extent how toxic his habit may actually be and how deep it may have affected his life. We’re not talking spirituality or christian-like yet, but even morally and character wise, bad habits pose a danger to the society.
The question however becomes ‘How bad are your bad habits?‘
Michael in the example above may be damaging his own personal life and not directly affecting the society, but there are levels to this thing that we ought to take seriously.
Everyone has a bad habit and it depends on how you’ve been handling yours, what you’ve been doing about it, how you have tried to stop it? Have you asked for help? Have you even discovered yours?
Follow me carefully.
The first step is knowledge.
The earlier you a person knows his/her problems, weaknesses and reasons behind each,the easier to find a solution.Take for instance, some people steal because they don’t have; Some do so because what they have isn’t enough for them, while some persons actually think it’s fun to pick others stuff.
Many guys believe smoking crack takes their minds off emotional burdens, a few may call it a maturity test, while others say it’s an inspirational drug dose, but what does the doctor say?
Let’s do a little self assessment.
- Find a quiet place.
- Get a piece of paper
- List the attributes, traits, qualities and habits you know you possess.
Now, with a sign ‘B‘, pick our the habits or traits you feel are toxic. As this requires your sincerity, be open about your review putting in mind the dangers of soviet and your immediate environment. - Send your name across to two friends(preferably two close friends, male and female and someone you just met recently), let them send you a feedback of what came into their minds as they saw your name.
- Successfully, using this procedures, you’ve discovered your strengths and weaknesses to an extent and our first step to ‘STOP IT‘ is ready.
