Ways the devil attacks a man.

As we enter into this new week, I feel it is expedient that we all become aware of the reality of life. Life entails so much hidden mysteries with a very deceptive outlooks.

It is equally important to understand that “life is spiritual”, as stated by Apostle Joshua Selman. It won’t be a wise choice to ignore the presence of God, and the devil. It won’t be a wise choice to live your life just as easy as you please. Circumstances can be influenced in supernatural realms. And yes, there are supernatural realms in existence.

The fact that you don’t believe something doesn’t make that thing not in existence. The fact that you have never seen or experienced some terrible and unbelievable experiences doesn’t mean they don’t exist, equally, the fact that you haven’t experienced good things doesn’t mean that they don’t exist. After establishing the points that there life is spiritual, supernatural realms and beings do exist whether we believe in them or not, I will enlighten you on the ways Satan the devil attacks humans, more especially, Christians.

How does Satan attack Christians?

1. Through distractions, deception and interruptions.

Distractions are things, people or actions that derail the focus of a person from a major, important and more rewarding objective.

A lot of times we humans are distracted from the main objective of our creation. That is why it is most important, after knowing that you are saved, to discover from the Lord why you were created. In short, your Purpose.

Biblically, there was a prophet God sent on an errand. He (God) told him (the prophet) what and what to do and not do while crossing a particular land for the assignment. He (the prophet) had done half of the assignment from God and was returning while on his way, another older prophet net with him on his way, lied to him about the rules God told him (the younger prophet) not to do, and since he was distracted and listened to the older man, he disobeyed God. At the end, God pronounced death for him and whilst he was returning he met a lion. That was the end of his life. What made him disobey God?
Disobedience!

Deception:
In simple terms, deception is lying to someone. Creating a false image and impression to someone to make them believe you. As Christians, it is needful to have the spirit of discernment! Because this world is full of lies! Things are not what they seem to be.

Biblically, Eve was a woman with a great destiny. But being deceived by the snake that she won’t die, she disobeyed God and fell out of purpose. Today we are all paying the price of their fall.
God told her that the day they eat of the fruit of good and of evil, they will die.  The devil said something else, that she won’t die. Not understanding that the death God was talking about was falling out of dominion with all creation.

We get deceived to do good rather than to do right. Which is more important? Money is good, purpose is right.

Interruptions,

These attacks come in the most unexpected manner, we get attacked by them almost all the time. Things that want to cut into your time of self or collective organization. It can be through anger, or individual weaknesses, temperament-related matters, addictions also. Interruptions can come anytime of the day.

2. Through challenges.

Being a Christian doesn’t guarantee that you will be free from challenges. As far as you are on earth, you will encounter challenges. Some might be under your capacity, some much greater than you and might need the help of the Holy Spirit to overcome.

Specifically, when Christians relocate into a new environment, there are already preprogrammed beings, occurrences, circumstances that are peculiar to such environments. For instance, the societal pressure of some places in the world can force married couples to consider divorcing their spouse; force youths and teenagers to be lascivious. There are many challenges in the life of a Christian. The fact that you are a Christian doesn’t make you invisible to the challenges of the world, but gives you a guaranteed victory in and over all situations.

3. Through ignorance.

Ignorance is the fact of not knowing something, it is also the fact of my knowing that you don’t know something. It is in degrees.

  • There is the degree of not knowing about a thing.
  • There is in degree of having an amount of knowledge that puffs up your mind to not want to receive from others, above or below.

Many people suffer in this earth, the reason why they don’t know why they’re suffering is the reason why they are suffering. Simply put, the reason why you don’t know your problem is the reason for your problem.

The devil can do nothing to a man who has a solid knowledge of the Word of God, and has a prayer life.

Let me give you a revelation,
The devil can never ever be equal and opposite with God. In fact, in the same Bible we read says that angels are to minister to humans. God created man for himself, God created angels for man and for God. To be helpers. Satan is and will forever be an angel, nothing more, nothing less. Though he is a fallen angel. Angels are made to serve man and God!

4. Through desires and weaknesses.

This is the most usual way you devil gains victory over humans. He uses their desires to defeat them. As a matter of fact, this article was given to me after once falling for the devil into giving into my desire. After that, I personally asked God why I had fallen to sin and this was the response He gave to me. Ever since then, I have guarded my heart well against the things and people whom I desire to be with and have.

Biblically, Samson strongly desired beautiful philistine women. He loved them so much that he forced his parents to join him to take a wife of them. Even after she was married off, he still attempted again! In his pursuit of philistine seductive women, he broke all his covenants with God and sinned, and the Spirit of the Lord left him. He died not because God left him, but he died because after telling Delilah the secret of his supernatural strength, he lost all he thought he had to the enemy—whom he desired!

The enemy can so manipulate things and people to be against us whilst looking like they are meant for our good. Sin in all forms is against God and will lead to destruction. No matter how much or little.

Your desires are the majority of what composes your temptations. You are most likely to fall for yore desires than for things and people you don’t desire.

5. Through Loved ones.

Peter was used by the devil once to try to derail Jesus’s plan by shouting “God forbid that you die!” (paraphrased from scriptures). It’s not every one who wants your good that actually does you good, even though they mean for your good. Sometimes, they may misunderstand situations and can be manipulated to affect you, distract, tempt, offend you to sin.
It might not be their purposeful doing— though it is a purposeful doing of the devil.

And lastly,

6. Personal Forward Attacks.

The devil is not omnipresent, he can never be every where at once. Though he has servants working for him against humans. He never wants what is good for any one. Never!

His desires have been perverted and polluted since the inception of sin from him. And that is to say, when what you are doing has a glitch or isn’t honorable and worthy of God’s praise, you are then not living according to the plans of God but of the devil.

Then devil doesn’t attack every one. He sends his demons to do so. But those there are times he attacks certain men and women of God in person. When he met Jesus to tempt Jesus, he knew that Jesus was the son of a carpenter… See the level of their struggle. He promised to give Him (Jesus) the riches of the world and even kingdoms if He bowed to satan. You see he promised to give Jesus riches. Truly he would have gicen Jesus those riches, but what he collects is far more important and greater than what he gives.

Do not be deceived friends. As far as you are a human, the devil doesn’t want you to end well. But God does, He has written a plan and purpose for you to end up greater than you every imagined. Why not choose Jesus today?
