The problem is not really the problem.

Many at times, when we encounter challenges we should be watchful of what we do concerning those challenges. No matter how big or small the challenge, as quoted by John Maxwell, “the problem is only as big as you make it.”

What are we talking about?

Attitude!!!

Your attitude is how you perceive, receive, and see life, people, situations and all there is to enlist. For example, you receive a credit alert of some huge amount of money your didn’t expect to receive. Immediately after knowing that you can consume it you become so overjoyed!! Glee and mirth in the air! You become happy! But once your finances are in zeros or minus, you easily get moody and upset.

What am I implying? I’m saying that by the above illustration, if you see yourself acting like how i described earlier on, then your attitude is dependent on external factors. And that is not a good thing, for a start.

A good attitude does not come externally. Conditions can be but are not supposed to manipulate your attitude about situations. Why?

Because life is unstable, unpredictable and like a boat on a sea-the weather can transform from bright baby-blue skies to dark grey clouds pouring huge drops of precipitation. Except with some supernatural force and ability can you control the weather. But if you are still a human who does not have such supernatural abilities functioning, it’s not a bad thing, although you will still face challenges, you can determine if it gets to you or not.

A wise man once said, life is 10% what happens to you and 90% what you do about it. Meaning that what happens to you is so infinitesimal compared to what you do about it.

When situations are smooth you begin feel professional about all things, but when they all go in a hullabaloo, that’s when you understand your true capacity to tackle situations.

When wrong things happen to you, you can only do either of the two but not none or both.

  • React
  • Respond.
  • Reacting is the act of expressing irritability or sensitivity to something or someone who did something to you directly or indirectly. It normals incurs expression of self through normal carnal natures— shouting, crying, replying with sacarstic comments, fighting etc.

Responding: In the act of responding, one is expected to think twice before making a decision or an action. Here, one does consider certain factors surrounding a situation. They become calculative, inquisitive and more collected that reactive folks.

No smooth sea made a skillful sailor.

If you want to get the better or of life, you have consciously hold on to the fact that joy and true happiness comes from within us— From the God within us.

People who respond more than they react are men who are more likely to be more mature.

Whatever problems you face and will face, you will need a great attitude to scale them through.
