People wonder a lot why they aren’t successful. You find out that there are some endeavors of yours that lacks recognition and victory. However we may put it, there are aspects of our lives that we have to admit to not being successful—more like failed. Students who have failed in their academics can relate to this truth, business owners will also relate comfortably with failing once in a while. Even folks who have engaged in competitions and contests can relate to failing once in a while.
Now the major question here is, why do you fail?
1. You are a non-believer.
By non-believer‘, I don’t mean someone who doesn’t believe in God. I don’t mean an atheist, no. That is an unbeliever. A non-believer is someone who doesn’t believe in himself. He/she may believe in success, in prosperity, in greatness, but they don’t believe it can be their heritage. They never see themselves in that light. They believe it’s for others, and although they won’t be joyous by being successful, they can’t come to grip with themselves about being able to be successful. They see themselves as mere people, likely victims of circumstances. And I tell you truth, whoever sees him-/her-self as unable to achieve success and greatness can never achieve it.
2. You have no idea what you can really attain.
This is a very similar condition to being a non-believer. But in this point, there is a possibility of you believing that you can be successful, yet, you have no insight on how far you can go to achieve your goals, how strong you are, what true limits you have, what things you honestly can and can’t do, what heights you can ascend to. No knowledge. It may be due to certain factors as wrong perspectives, communications and even actions.
When purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.
3. You are a jack-of-all-trades and master of none.
A man who desires to learn all and not have a solid ground on one aspect of endeavor will inevitably not rise. Those who stand out in any field of life are only Experts. No mediocre person with substandard multifocused mind will rise. The reason is simple, whatever you find yourself doing, no matter how minute you think it is, it is so broad that to ever succeed in such field—be it music, poetry, science, engineering, entertainment—you will need to invest a huge amount of attention and resources(time, money, relationships, research) into it before you can excel and become outstanding.
So you must focus on one thing at a time to become very good at it and not fail.
People who fail in this category do so because they fail to get sufficient adequate knowledge about what they are doing. Thereby making them to fail or perform at average below average levels.
4. You are abiding with choking negative habits.
The potency of a person’s success has little effects such a person is one who gives in the the influences of bad habits. What is a habit?
A bad habit is an undesirable behavior pattern. Common examples include: procrastination, fidgeting, overspending, and nail-biting. (Wikipedia, 2020).
A lot of research has been done which show the relationship between habits and productivity. If those habits are bad, and are not eradicated, they will affect character, relationships, hinder total productivity or even the least and then increase the chances of failure. Such habits that can cause failure include:
- Laziness,
- procrastination,
- inconsistency,
- redundancy,
- lateness.
- Overspending.
- Lying.
- Excuses.
5. You associate with people who have no business with where you’re headed.
Birds of a feather flock together. It’s true. If you ever want to fail in life be associated with those who are not serious about their endeavors, those who trivialize essential things that they are meant to pay keen attention to.
Ironically we find them to be most amusing and interesting to hang around with, whilst we listen to their jokes about how they meddle with things and get away. And it seems worth fantasizing about so we are some times given to such illusions. While those might be true, they still plant seeds of self-destructive characters in the listeners minds.
People who don’t have a similar vision with you and where you’re headed to, but constantly talk about things, topics, and conversations that are truly nothing but mirages, short-termed and plummeting against our expected routes and results.
A wise man can never be close associations with a foolish man, a rich man can’t be business partners with a poor man, an unbeliever and a Christian shouldn’t be close associations. Why so?
The reason why this is so important is because of how much influence associations and relationships have upon people.
If you want to be successful in life,
Walk with those who are successful or headed that way.
Don’t cut corners, don’t miss steps, don’t jump processes. Don’t join excusers and those who portray bad values. They will definitely affect you and your productivity.
Think twice.
6. You are never prepared.
Life is based on stages, not exactly age.You might be 26 years old and be in a stage where you are learning basic things you should already know. It’s not a bad thing, although it is more challenging.
You might be 17 and be in a stage where you lead those who are by far older than you, even teach them. It’s not necessarily based on your age but in what stage you are in at the moment.
That’s all long story. When you are faced with challenges or tests to qualify you for things or positions and you fail to meet the required standards, you will not be acquainted into what you intended achieving.
When you fail to prepare you prepare to fail.
7. You have a stagnant-water life.
As metaphoric as this may be, it’s true. When things in your life are not moving. The knowledge you gained from yesterday still remains the same today, still tomorrow, you will eventually fail. The world is changing fast, as in, very fast. New knowledge soon becomes outdated in a jiffy. If you keep using old and outdated methods for a new society and new, umsimilar situation you will fail.8. You don’t know how to not fail.
This is where people go wrong, I simply mean, knowing how to succeed by knowing what will make you fail and abstaining from it. If you are going for an interview, you should have everything ready and set, be properly dressed, have a presentable character and attitude and be punctual. Any loss in any of the listed factors can affect you getting the job. Likewise academics and preparation; businesses and strategies. It’s as easy as that.
9. You are inconsistent in following the right ways.
Ome of the core values for success of anything on earth is consistency. But when people fail to be consistent, even when they’ve seen the way to succeeding they will fail. Simple. Either you fail or get mediocre, average or below average turn outs.10. You don’t know God.
God is everything good. God is every mighty thing indescribable. He is too wise and teaches us to be wise as He leads. All great human imaginations are gifted from God. From our talents and iq… Only a few will admit. Follow God in all sincerity and truth is a sure way to being successful. But when you don’t. You will fail. You might ask, “what about those who don’t serve God and are making it?”My answer to that is two things, either they did it at a very high cost, or they are living lives on a wire. It can trip off any time.
